I ordered mine at the end of August expecting delivery by Xmas. I am a bit horrified to find that this has been dragging on for well over a year already, but I want the product and am willing to wait until March. I don’t know how much longer I will wait after that though.
Yes, I have received all the updates, and when I’ve responded with questions, the company is making an attempt to be understanding.
I really don’t understand these delays. If there have been so many problems along the way, leading to delays of well over a year, then why were the preorders taken?
I read somewhere else on one of these threads that the company admitted that the preorders were done to attract additional investment funding. I asked that person where they got that information. That’s what I’m referring to be “sneaking around” because I have never seen that communicated anywhere.
To be completely blunt, I think a delay of well over a year is suspicious.
This sounds like a great product, but if I decide to not ask for a refund and to get the product whenever it comes out, what if it still has bugs and doesn’t work well?

I gave up and ordered the Pixio Move 'N See. Placed my order at about 1:00 a.m. on Nov 28th. It is expected to arrive by the end of the day TOMORROW (yippee ki-yay! yay! yay!!) from France by DHL. It has actually (no delays, no excuses, no chain yanking) left the facility and is in transit! I even have the tracking number so I can see where it is. This is for real, folks! I’m getting it for real!:D:lol::yes:
I ordered the main base unit plus the wrist band. Cost me $686.76. Only caveat is that my current video camera won’t work so well; its too old. I am going to buy a new one (posted in OT and OC, hoping to get feedback). This will cost me an additional $350, or $750 if I go for the better model. I’m ok with that! Soloshot cost me a whole lot more $$$ than that in their delays. I needed it a year ago.
Here is a list of the supported cameras for the Move 'N See, Sony and Cannon: http://www.movensee.com/pixio-customer-care-center
Agree.
I would be asking for my money back before it is too late. If they wanted to show good faith they would return the money but still later honor the offers for these people whose money they have kept for over a year. Unless it can be independently verified that the funds are in some way protected from seizure -how do people know their funds are not at risk if the company goes under or even if they have not already spent the money.
Also what happens if March rolls around and the release date gets pushed back again…
I think Soloshot has, unfortunately, shot themselves in the foot. They should not have taken preorders if they didn’t think they could deliver. Not only are “early adopters” angry, but potential new customers are turned off.
I had a friend ask me today what I thought of the Pixio. I replied that I didn’t have one of those robot cameras but had purchased a Soloshot 2 instead a while ago. I told her not to buy the current Soloshot, that she should either get the Pixio or what to see what happens when Soloshot 3 finally arrives after over a year delay in production.
Which do you think she is going to choose? She hasn’t said, but I’m sure after she hears about the 1.5 year delay that I doubt she will wait around and take that risk.
I am probably going to do nothing right now as someone who got a substantial discount. I’m certainly not happy about the delay though.
If the Soloshot is pushed back again from the March deadline, I will absolutely ask for a full refund.
Edited to add: If they had so many problems with overheating etc. why did they do a preorder? Did these problems only come about during scaleup?
Just checked, and Move 'N See is now on sale until Dec 4!
I’ve put off ordering the Soloshot 3 because of all the delays. I simply cannot have my money tied up like that for such a long extended time without a firm delivery date. I think a year and a half delay with no real guarantee that the product will actually ship in March is unacceptable.

I wonder if the sale coincides with angry people who put their money into Soloshot preorders.
Just for the record, does Soloshot 3 offer advantages over the Pixio other than price?
Yes! Endless advantages… Pixio doesn’t just take your money and give nothing in return over a year later, with no product in sight. They have integrity, do what they say they will. They have a real product that exists right this moment and even works, not a phantom product, that is still in beta. Pixio Move 'N See is available TODAY and they even ship your order out immediately! Outstanding customer service. Since a real and existing product, they could answer every single question about Move 'N See for equestrian use, how I plan on using it in my environment. There are multiple videos on YouTube of riders using Move 'N See for jumping and dressage that go back 2? 3? Years.
Just a few of the advantages of Pixio Move 'N See.
They were on board with Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. That’s how I got mine. Pre Christmas sales everywhere.

Solo shot 3 has a longer range, up to 1000 ft vs 330ft (for us eventers, or awkward ring setups where it’s easier to set the camera up a bit further away). It does have less range indoors (100 ft vs pixio’s 330). Cost is a big factor. Also, pixio requires you set up 3 beacons. I’m guessing the pixio triangulates location using those beacons. I guess that works if you’ve got your own set up at home where you can just leave it, but if I want to film myself at shows, I’m not going to be setting up beacons around the show ring, nor do I want to fuss with setting those up each time I ride.
I haven’t waited as long as many of you, as I ordered in September 16, but I am frustrated nonetheless because I need it NOW. I agree that this is poor business. Word of mouth is everything. They need to do SOMETHING to keep customers happy. Throw something in the pot to keep us hanging on. Seriously.
sorry this update is late in coming - I checked in while this forum was down and never got back to it…
I proceeded last week with asking for a refund from Soloshot. They called me and a super helpful fellow offered a free tripod ($50 value) if I would not cancel my order. He also told me that my order is actually on track to ship mid-January.
Additionally he gave a lengthy explanation of the delays that I will try to boil down correctly.
The Soloshot 1 and 2 were hand made in the USA by a small team of workers at Soloshot. Everything was done in house.
They then made the decision to ramp up production for the launch of Soloshot 3 and worked with multiple outside companies to create the new units to Soloshot’s high quality standards. After every small production run, they did a lot of testing then went back and made changes and updates. This has been going on for quite awhile. As it turns out, they were even doing testing at a water ski park near where I live in November.
Those are the high points as I remember them, and I decided to wait and see what happens in January and if I actually get a unit. As for early production failures, they think all of this pre-production testing will keep that from happening. Sounds ambitious to me but we shall see! I do believe they are making their best effort to put out an amazing product and I’m willing to hang in there a bit longer. It doesn’t sound like anything underhanded is going on, just new technology that has to be tweaked.

I actually asked about the possibility of upgrading from the optic25 to the optic65, and related cost. Was told they can’t edit orders and I’d have to cancel and reorder (at my initial discount rate). However, I didn’t want to get out at the back of the line. Somewhat disappointed they couldn’t work out a better way to take more money from me
Hi there,
recently I posted a video to youtube to help generate some internet exposure to Soloshot and their practices. Feel free to check it out and comment. I had a convorsation with Soloshot last year where they verbally confirmed to me that yes in fact the preorders were used to generate the funding for the development of the Soloshot 3.
