Like everyone that pre-ordered this camera, I got the announcement today that they are delayed again - this time until March. By that time, they will have been using my pre-payment $$ for close to a year. I have requested a refund, no reply from them yet. The pre-order discount is not worth tying up my money for that long. Anyone else opinions or thoughts? I was really looking forward to getting it in June… then in October… then in, well NOW.
I’m sorry to hear that  Hopefully you get a refund, it sounds like they really messed up.
Ugghh, got my update today.
According to the company, none of the pre-orders went towards R&D, but they were used to attract investment funding. They say they guarantee all pre-orders in terms of refunds because they haven’t spent that money.
I ordered last Sept. and at this point, I’m thinking “what the hell is a few more months?” I suspect the upgrades will make this a pricier unit when it hits the market, and at the end of the day, I want it.
sigh
Just bought a Pixio, which works indoors and out. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I heard great things about Pixios. Not sure how they compare to the competition though. Keep us posted!
Yes, I received an email saying the same thing (March).
I’m a bit annoyed, but what can you do? I’m not going to ask for a refund yet, I’m just hoping it will be ready then.
I just received the same email. I can understand a delay of a few months, but well over a year?
Was the thing totally undeveloped? Or did they run into issues when they tried to ramp up production? The of problems that they are now supposedly trying to solve make it sound like the thing was barely a concept a year ago.

This is exactly where I am at now. I have already spent the money, I still want the camera so if its March its March. I am annoyed for sure, but I feel like I’m kind of stuck. If I get my $$ back then I won’t get the camera, or I will pay even more…
How did you find that info? I got the impression the company was sneaking around and not being completely honest with what was going on

I’m feeling the same way. Ordered over a year ago, and I’m torn between wanting my money and wanting this product. I was more patient before, but now I have a just started 3 yo and I’m dying to document the progress. Half debating going the Pixio route, but there are things I like better about the (eventual) soloshot. Pixio would end up being more expensive for me (by roughly $400!) and I like the long range of the soloshot for cross country. Less range indoors but that’s alright for my needs.
Doesn’t the Pixio end up being more way expensive, because you’re only buying the robot? Unless you have a camera that works with Pixio I suppose. The Soloshot 3 order comes with the camera and robot and is priced at much less than the Pixio from what I’ve seen (unless I’m looking in the wrong places??). Plus you don’t have to set up the micro-beacons around your arena with the Soloshot. I’m probably going to wait for the Soloshot assuming it doesn’t get delayed again, but I am definitely curious about the Pixio as well!

I emailed the company, expressing my concerns about a possible bankruptcy. They explained how they’ve been approaching the situation so as not to go into bankruptcy. They said they were making very small batches and testing them (they send them to users, who report the pros and cons), and then tweaking the design/changing manufacturers for the next small batch. This is why the whole process has taken so long. They didn’t anticipate the problems they encountered and they don’t want to mass produce until a batch is up to par. They also explained the pre-purchase strategy.
I have emailed them/ PM them on facebook several times and I generally get a very fast, seemingly honest answer about things. I don’t get the impression that they’re trying to hide things as much as they don’t want to advertise all of the problems that they’ve encountered.

I first off want to apologize for the hassle and frustration that our delays have caused you. This is definitely the last thing we wanted for our valued customers. We genuinely thought that Soloshot3 would be ready by now, but we’ve experienced a few unforeseen hurdles. We want to be completely transparent, so we outlined the roadblocks we’ve come across and our plans for solving them in the most recent order update you referenced you received. Here’s the link to that full update, just in case you want to look over it again: https://shop.soloshot.com/blogs/updates/november-preorder-update
You also voiced your concerns that we’ve used your pre-payment money towards research & development. We’d like to assure you that we have private investors that fund us, which is why we are able to offer a 100% cancellation policy to our customers. We will not touch those funds until 30 days after we finish shipping all pre-orders (to allow time for returns as well). As soon as customer service processes your email, we will get your full refund issued. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@soloshot.com with any questions, comments or concerns.
I was also very concerned to receive the email - I ordered last month because it was expected to be out “late fall”.
Really hope that there will be compensation for those of us who are patiently waiting delivery.
If the camera will automatically photoshop perfect position over a fence then I will forgive them this latest delay
I got the same email and placed my order last April. Like others, I still want it, so I guess I’ll invest in some patience therapy and wait it out.
I ordered in September 2015. I didn’t receive the latest update. Aggravating. I was not pleased with their customer service fellow who called me (see thread in Off Course).
