Just wondering now that some of you have had your Soloshots for some time, how you like them. Pros? Cons? I am contemplating purchasing one, but would appreciate a bit more feedback before plunking down that big of a chunk of change. Thanks!
I think there is a fairly long thread on the dressage forum about them.
They look really cool but I don’t have one so can’t help you.

Thanks for the Amazon link!
You’re welcome
It does not sound promising for riders in an arena since the reviews indicate one should be 200’ away from the camera.
Please note that there are two versions of soloshot, the origion soloshot and the new soloshot2. The original solothos is designed for surfers, and indeed requires a long distance. Solosho2 requires 10~15’ distance. For it to work, the device must be able to see the sky, meaning all covered arenas are off. Also, there are limited number of cameras that are compatible with it. For the cameras that are not compatible with it, you will be able to pan but no zoom. Other than that, folks seem to like it very much.
If you venture to dressage forum, and search for Soloshot2, you should find some good discussions there. Some posters posted their video shot by soloshot2 as well.
Our barn folks chipped in and we bought the SoloShot 2 complete set up and we love it. It works great!
Still love mine. I’ve gotten a little creative as far as doing the “centering object” thing. Instead of using something at ground level I aim up 1-2 feet. Also, doing more than 50’ for the “walkabout” improves the tracking. I’ve been successfully using the narrowest frame with good results.
FYI- I’ve just started a new thread to get current tips&tricks for the SoloShot:
