Something similar to Seroquine?

I really like Uckele’s Seroquine for my reactive horses, but I am TIRED of always having to find the best price on it each time I order. You’d think it would be Uckele but noooooo.

Is there anything out there that’s similar? I’m kind of eyeballing Horsetech’s MMX. Not quite the same, but in the same ballpark. Any feedback?

Can’t help with a substitute but if you order from Horse.com and use their Autoship program you get 10% off each purchase. Their prices are typically very low and with the regular discount you could just stick with the Seroquine that you like.
Tryptophan is banned by some equestrian organizations.

When my horse wouldn’t eat Seroquine, I tried Perfect Prep Training Day. Their powdered product, not the tubes. He ate that just fine even though it smells quite strongly of some kind of added flavoring. It’s a bit spendy, though, and I wasn’t sure it was doing anything for him, so I stopped that.

When he was at rehab, they put him on Vita Calm, which is similar. He also ate that. Can’t tell if it did much either, but I kept him on that through his initial under saddle rehab so as to keep everything consistent. Vita Calm is cheaper and both that and PP are easier to find in a local store for me. I wound up switching to a HorseTech supp to just simplify the number of tubs of things. Used that to combine the B vitamins, magnesium, and also his copper, zinc, and biotin. But now with his back soreness stuff, I wonder if I should try going back to one of the others instead? Dr. Pam says he could be getting even more magnesium.

I’m assuming you have already considered SmartCalm Ultra?

  • Magnesium 10,000 mg
  • Taurine 5,000 mg
  • Inositol 2,000 mg
  • Thiamine 1,000 mg (B1)
  • L-Tryptophan 500 mg

I wound up just reordering Seroquine, from State Line Tack. Paid $91.40 for 10 lbs shipped, so 62 cents/day.

The SmartCalm Ultra looks good, but it’s SO costly. Same with the Perfect Prep :sigh:

I’d run out for about a week before getting Dove back on the Seroquine and MAN what a difference in her. I really like the product, but just really hate having to figure out the best place to buy it :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, SmartCalm Ultra works out at $1.07/day so definitely more expensive that the Seroquine, but I have it on autoship in smartpaks so the convenience is worth a little extra for me!

Curious - what Horsetech Supplement? currently I buy separate Cu & Zn supplements, plus Remission to get the Biotin & Mg into my guy as well. Did they special make one for you is there one they offer I should investigate? I am making my own supplement containers up weekly for the barn, but I have to keep 5 different tubs of stuff around to do it! (plus I add some flax seed and a gut supplement)

They made one for me.
