Sonoma Horse Park Ceases to Show Under Auspices of USEF

Just got back from two weeks at Sonoma. Nice compact facility. Well managed, though their show app drive everyone crazy, including the office. Excellent prizes and classic ribbons that rivaled those at an Arabian show. Got to do some of my 1-m classes in the GP ring, including a $10K Ch/AA classic. Fun to show at a venue that was new to me and meet some new people. Got some great restaurant recommendations in Petaluma. Weather was a bit hot here and there, but better than So Cal at the moment, and it cooled off to the low to mid 50’s at night.

I wasn’t sure about the protocol of approaching a judge. I know you’re supposed to do it through the steward, at least if it concerns a judge’s decision. Though our whole group was doing jumpers, which I don’t think you judged.

Looks like you got to judge the fun flat class in the GP ring based on the announcement I heard in the stable area. My ring ran late and I was still taking care of my horse when the GP started.
