Sorry for the repetitive post. I just bought a cutting horse, but will be doing reining and barrel racing too. What is the apperal for that? What are the requirments?
Depending on the breed, I would check with the breed rulebook and see what it says, and mirror that, even if you’re showing open/local shows.
I know that in AQHA, ranch horse type classes don’t like to see silver and fancy, where in the pleasure ring you will see blinding saddles and shirts with glitter and stones.
If you are showing with a particular discipline’s association (like NCHA) check out their rules. I know NRCHA (Reined Cowhorse) you must need a long sleeve western shirt, jeans, boots and a cowboy hat. Amount of bling optional but cowhorse there is not alot of bling (I think cutting is the same) where as barrel racers are “blingier”. :lol: They will also designate the tack requirements/restrictions.
