Sort of Spin-off: What size girths do your horses wear?

16.3 TB gelding wears a 54" now that he’s put on some weight, and was a 52" all summer.

15.1 Morgan gelding wore a 48" in the summer and a 50" in the winter.

15.1 Arab wears 48" stretch ended leather girth (and always gets a bald rub spot right under his elbow-what am I doing wrong there?)

I’d love to see a pic of you on her! I’m having a hard time w/ the mental image [/QUOTE]

I’ll try to upload one to a picture sharing site. I should mention that she was also 5 months preg, and at this point we dont have a saddle wide enough to fit her now that she is 7 months along!

16.3hh Appendix QH
52" girth

I use the Lettia Clik Girth. Love it. I have a regular Beval CC saddle.

My 15.2hh Warmblood/TB mix is all over the place. For dressage we currently have a 24" but she could use a 22". For jumping she is a 50".

12 hand pony wears a 34" (very limited choices in this size)
12.3 hand pony wears a 38
14.3 hand skinny young horse wears a 46
15.3 hand fat warmblood is in a 52 at the moment.

15.1 Morgan Mare - Should be a 48" but usually a 50" (52" if we’re really bad weight-wise)… has been in as large as 56"! (Saddle had short billets, so was probably more like 54"… but still)

14.2/14.3 Morgan Gelding - 48", unless he’s in really good shape, then a 46". Has been in a 50" a few times.

My 14.2 Arab wears an 18" dressage girth. Yup, there is one that small; never found another one. Don’t know what that translates to in regular size girths.

14 hand Mustang, he wears a 50".
