Anybody have any idea where to buy some men’s breeches in a corduroy-type fabric?
You can get them at Horse Country (horsecountrylife.com)
There is also this terrific company that had a booth at the hound show this past spring.

They had beautiful corded britches for an excellent price. I examined the quality of the cloth and stitching and was impressed. I bought something from them and had zero trouble with exchange rates. Nice folks, excellent products, great prices.
Corduroy
Are you looking for corded or corduroy breeches.
A store in NY has some corduroy ones for women and men - North Shore Saddlery. Contact them, tell them the size you need, and they will let you know if they have or not. They have German-made ones on sale. Maybe they can help. 516-922-9198. Good luck in your search!
Thanks for the replies. Sorry to be so slow in responding!
There’s a particular sort of fabric I saw on a rider out at Red Rock last season that I can only describe as corduroy, but perhaps it has some other name. Anyway, that’s what I’m after, but I’ve also seen some breeches in what anyone would call corduroy that I also like.
cavalry twill?
Are you thinking of cavalry twill? It can be a raised hill and furrow look, but less than a regular cordroy. It has a very tight, harder hand that is grippy and more impervious to thorns and weather. It was designed for the military horse cavalry.
How about asking the masters at Red Rock? They will encourage you, I’m sure. I really enjoyed meeting them, when they came for the Va hound show.
I’m not thinking of cavalry twill. What I’m thinking of is a very soft, flannely fabric with wide, flat hills and shallow, narrow furrows, to use your language. And buttons on the inside, near the knees, if I recall correctly. Maybe they were just antediluvian breeches.
Back during the time of Munnings…
Yes, You are right-
Antedeluvian it is! The give-away is the buttons. These pre-date, frequently, zipper, elastic and velcro. They are antique and still going strong. But that is also why the fabric feels so soft. You will need to haunt the antique, second hand, re-enactment shops along with sending the notes to whoever has found them.
