Southern States Fiber Plus/Legends Carb Care Balancer

Tell me your experiences please on SS Fiber Plus and Legends Card Care Balancer Pellet

Thank you in advance

I tried a bag or two of the Carb Care Balancer pellets, since I had a coupon. I was feeding TC 30 before that. The horses liked it just fine, but in the end I went back to the TC 30. At first glance, the Carb Care balancer seems to be a lot cheaper, but its price is for 40lbs, vs TC 30’s 50lb bags. It still comes out a little bit cheaper. Then, when you compare nutritional values, most of them are significantly higher in the TC 30. In my unscientific trial, I decided that you get more nutrition for your money with the TC 30 and have used it ever since. Like I said, my horses liked the Carb Care just fine, and I’m sure it’s a good feed, and I would not hesitate to feed it if my situation changed.

^ Interesting post. I have always fed CarbCare Blanacer because I had a coupon for it.

I personally feed Fiber Plus to most of my barn. My older guys, who could use the additional protein and nutrients, get a pound of CarbCare Balancer with their breakfast. The old guys are easy keepers, so Fiber Plus is minimal as well.

I’ve been feeding the Carb Care Balancer for about a year now, and I’ve been pleased with it. I have very easy keepers - a 13 year old Oldenburg mare that I do dressage and hunters with, and her coming 3 year old son. His growth has been very steady and even on the CCB. I also have 2 donks that get the “no thank you” helping.
