Southern States Reliance - Need Advice!!

Southern States stopped selling their 11/6 pellet and now sell the Reliance 12/6 pellet which isn’t working as well for my horses. I am ISO a good all around feed preferably sold at Southern States or Tractor Supply. Any suggestions?

*Note, I have horses of all ages and the pellet I was feeding helped them all maintain a good weight and was reasonably priced (under $14) bag.

It costs more, but my horses do well on the Legends Carb Care pellet (formerly known as Legends Performance). You might also try their “10/10/10” feed, which I know nothing about except that it’s cheaper than the legends feeds.

Oh Lord no, don’t switch to the Triple 10. It’s a sweet feed and IIRC, the starch level is close to 30%. Even if it was lower in starch, it’s still a lot higher in fat than both your previous feed and the Reliance. If they did well with 6% fat, they certainly don’t need a higher fat content. See if your feed store carries or can order the SS Select Plus pelleted feed. It has the same 12% protein and 6% fat, but has 22% fiber-- high fiber is always nice to see. The only other thing I would recommend (if you want to stick with strictly a SS pelleted feed) is the Solution. Slightly higher in protein and fat, though.
