Who IS this person (OP)?
What a confusing thread. I’ve tried to read most of but it makes my brain hurt.[/QUOTE]
Take that as a reassuring sign that you are rational.

The Op started this thread several years ago (quite innocently it seems) and so is not responsible for the recent craziness.

So who IS responsible for the “recent craziness”? I cannot make heads nor tails out of it.
The fact that I’m asking probably means I am bored this evening…getting dark early now.
Catching up on COTH with confusing threads with a zillion views and posts on a Sunday night is never boring. Dang…back to work tomorrow.
I have had to hand walk my big horse for 20 mins a day then have a good long grooming session w/ lots of massage. (He has an injury which requires this but it is on the mend, so good…
When I take him out of his pipe corral it is like “how to walk your dragon”. However, without the use of herbal calmants or drugs, I have him so in tune to me that, when he pulls his dragon act, as in rearing, running past me, pawing, I give him a quick sharp smack with the end of my lead rope. Thats it!
He then looks at me, his eye softens and he puts his head down and complies to walk safely and soundly next to me. In essence he gets it, feels his comfort zone and relaxes.
A. Hernandez is a master horse trainer. Enough said.

Up through post #61 were all positive impressions of A. Hernandez, including reports of personal experiences at his clinics, with the exception of one extremely bad review which was negated by some who attended that clinic. Up to that point, all discussion was on topic about Fernandez, his methods, and specific experiences at various clinics.
Then, bam! Starting with post #62, EPat jumped the shark saying that ugly women were mean and jealous of pretty women, abused women needed to take photos and go to a shelter, one should take photos of horses being beaten, and COTH posters were all women and were meanies.
Confusion, chaos and hilarity ensued.
I choked my horse with carrots tonight and followed with a thorough thumping. The abuse never stops!
Larkspur, you’ve been holding out on me. You have a Thumper??! <<<<green with envy>>>>

Jealous, horrible, beast woman. I have no doubt that you welted him up after you choked and thumped him.
I am reporting you to the PBS affiliate in Denver .The Masterpiece Theater section will have your number, honey!

Yes, twas a gift from Mr. Larkspur, who never would have gifted it had he known it would one day end up in the barn.

Yeah, that’s right. And to make sure the lesson sunk in, I forced him to watch the fall fundraiser!

The fundraiser? Oh My God. The humanity!..
Is there no depth of torture to which you will not stoop?
Some people have no feelings at all, toward any living creatures.
What next? The COMFY CHAIR???
A. Hernandez is at Summervale Farm today to thursday (Oct 13,14,15th) if anyone is interested in Auditing

Watched Alredo today at a CDS Pomona chapter clinic and I have to say that I was quite impressed given past less than impressive experiences with him. He was sympathetic to the horses and spent far less time than previously preening for the audience.
For any of you in the Seattle area Alfredo will be at Summervale this month. Dates are Feb 23,24,25th if you are interested in auditing. My understanding is the clinic is full but if your interested in riding Jennifer Shrader-Williams is obviousley hoasting and the one to contact :).
I am riding in the clinic with my Five year old all 3days and going to audit most of the clinic. Very much looking forward to the experiance, last time I was only able to do one day so this will be a real learning opportunity.
Anyone know if he comes to the east coast or has a clinic schedule anywhere?
He’s at Del Mar National this weekend schooling a client or two in the warm up. Lot’s of yelling !
I would ride with him in a heartbeat if we could get him to come to North Central Florida!

I wish I’d seen this update when I was over there, I would have checked him out in person.
I thought the warmups were greatly improved this year. The CDI covered arena made the regular show warmups much less crowded. And, they expanded the area on top of that.
I almost ran into far fewer riders this year compared to last year.
My trainer went through an AH phase a few years ago so I audited several of his clinics…very impressive timing when working the horses in hand in hand, unfortunately there was also very heavy drinking on his part and he was asked to leave the facility.
I’m glad things have improved with his interpersonal behavior. Pretty good horseman.
For some horses and riders, AH is a good fit for teaching Pi/Pa. However, I’ve seen him press some horses too hard and his technique backfired. So, as with all things…no one size fits all.
For what it’s worth he’ll be in San Diego June 23-24.
