Special horses of recent times and where are they now?

The crappy weather has me inside as much as I can be (in between taking care of animals of course) and I have been watching old videos and reminiscing of some wonderful horses of the last 10 years and some of them have me wondering … where are they now? If there haven’t been any formal retirement announcements then it’s hard to follow them along and see what they are up to. A few can be tracked into new jobs. Anyone know about these? Anyone have more to add?
RF Scandalous- where is she now
RF Demeter- thrilled to see her killing it in the dressage world
Cooley Cross Border- made a brief comeback. Now where is he?
Delux z- ran into him bossing around the 1.10 jumpers here in VA

What other special horses have gone on doing other things recently

Adore this horse. Would love to hear what he is up to now.

RF Demeter - I saw her this fall, leased by a pony clubber achieving her USPC B rating I was apprenticing, used for the flat portion. She looked fabulous, although still a bit of a handful!

Little more than 10 years ago but Barbaro. He’s in permanent, eternal retirement.

What about tight lines?

I just saw RF Scandalous in January in one of the dressage day demo lessons at the ECP Symposium. She’s still with Karen O’Connor and one of her working students has the privilege of riding her. Not sure if they had competed or plan to, but wow what a opportunity for the young man!

Fischer Rocana, one of my favorites-became a mom for the 2nd time on April 4th, the same birthdate as MJ son Lio.

Her first born was shown recently in a video running around a field with her best friend-another yearling who was bought for her as a friend. Funny translation from German.

I’m rewatching last year’s Land Rover Kentucky as a warm up for this year which has made me wonder about two horses, FE Lifestyle, and then Karl Slezak and Fernhill Wishes. Anyone know?

He’s running the 5* this weekend!

lol – and I thought I’d read so carefully and was sure I hadn’t seen the name, oops! That’s good news.

For some reason, I was thinking of Mandiba this morning – maybe because I am still nursing through my own two broken ribs. I’m sorry such a negative memory is attached to such a nice horse. I always liked him, despite his not wanting to be an UL horse. What ever happened to him?

I know Alexa Perkiel took him around some intermediates in late 2013 early 2014. I think he retired after that though.

I was thinking about On Cue today. I feel like I haven’t heard a word about her since Boyd withdrew her from Kentucky last year.

He posted a video of her recently, I guess she is just starting back.

Thanks! That is great to see!

On Cue is currently leading the 3*-S at Tryon after dressage so it looks like she is, in fact, back!

Got SO excited when I saw On Cue was leading in Tryon! Love her and hope he can get her back to Kentucky next year!

She is 18 so not sure what the plans are for her but it is great to see her back out and about again. She’s always been one of my favorites.

A helmet cam view of Tryon XC for the On Cue fans!
