I’m looking at a 2006 County Perfection and though the leather feels nice there are fine crack lines that look like spider webs in the seat. I was wondering if that would really jeopardize the life of the saddle. I’m not a hard rider, one horse and ride 3 to 4 times a week when I can fit it into my schedule. I don’t show anymore and just ride for personal satisfaction. I don’t have a lot of money to blow but really love the Perfections. The price for the saddle is $3000. Would any of you take a chance with it?
You sure it is not buffalo leather on the seat? Or you have touch and see it in person? 3k for a saddle that is cracking is a little overpriced for me.

Depends on how deep the cracks are. If they don’t go through the finish of the leather, they’re more cosmetic than structural, though you will need to be vigilant about cleaning and conditioning (which you should be in any case!).
