Spin off of belly & udder development thread, anyone else track yearly w/pics?

Every year I try and take pics the few weeks leading up to delivery, and after the first year I’ve always put them on my website so I can compare year to year, does anyone else have pics of their mares. I’m getting excited as my girls are getting closer, and can’t wait to see everyone else’s babies too!! Last year I tried to take one every day after 330 because I knew the buyer for Mae’s foal this year wanted to be here to watch her foal, so while I feel I know her fairly well after 7 foals, I wanted daily photos in hopes I won’t tell her to come too early or too late!

I track yearly with pics as well though maybe every 3-4 days and not daily. I won’t have any pics for this year until June as my first mare due just aborted yesterday at 9 months along So it is starting out to be a pretty upsetting year. I am really hoping my last pregnancy goes well but the next mare is not due until June.

I have that OCD personality that likes photos I hate going by memory. That’s why I take photos of all my PH tests and then can visually compare the change. I also have yearly conformation shots of my coming 5 year old that I bred in 2008. I’m sure I’ll do the same with this foal as well.

Oh no Cindy!!! I’m so sorry to hear your mare aborted, I hope she’s doing ok, and sending jingles for a good foaling in June for your other mare!!

Cassy’s Mom, thanks so much, I’m with you on going off memory…I hate it, I try to get at the same angle every time too, because that can totally throw the “look” off. The first year I did it, I did vulva shots too, but with Mae I can tell more from udders than anything, although did see the mucous plug that year!!!

I’m super excited because Mae is not a fan of udder touching/cleaning/milking…so have never been able to milk test her, but her daughter (by Corlando) who is due at the end of April doesn’t care so I"m going to be a newbie with milk testing this year! I need to go get supplies and can’t wait to try it out, so I will totally be stalking your pics and probably will add that into Amelia’s gallery this year!!! DH thinks I’m crazy!!

Here is one of my mares, Delimain aka Delephant. She always gets huge. I started taking photos of her after her first pregnancy for me. I got so nervous. This will be her 9th and final foal. The photo was taken today and she is not due until July.
