Hunter & Sport Horse (I think that was what it was called)
Performance Horse. It was a western magazine that actually had really good training articles in it. Nothing out there compares to it.
Horse play
Another for Hunter & Sport Horse…
Hunter & Sport Horse
Spur
Classic
Something called Horses. West Coast all discipline monthly. Usually knew everybody in it and it was gossipy.
Hunter and sport horse!!! Loved everything about that darn magazine…
Lol!!! I remember Spur! I remember it was very glossy, and very gossipy? Great photos in it.
Western Horseman.
It may actually still exist for all I know but it was my first exposure to anything “horse”. My 3rd grade teacher’s husband subscribed to it and she would bring old copies into class, along with a bunch of other magazines, to use for art projects. I would spend all of my “art time” pouring thru them and still get a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I think about it.
The Whole Horse Journal. It was a very small, ad-free magazine filled with holistic health articles. The Whole Dog Journal is/was similar (not sure if that’s around anymore either).
Horse of Course. I forget what magazine they sent me after HoC had to drop publication (owner heart attack or something similar) but it was no replacement!
The old Dressage and CT. It was far superior to DT or PH of today

They sent the original Horse and Rider which was very weak in content at that time.
I am pretty sure because I was irritated that Performance Horseman also turned into Horse and Rider about 10 years later and I was like NO NOT AGAIN…but it was better the second time around.
Not so keen on it now though.

Yep, that was my favorite, too. Also Dressage and CT.
