Spin-off Thread: CC and Stride Angle
Have a look at Ribot’s stride and note his unusual -both hind legs together- stride akin to a hare.

Thanks for those videos, D_BaldStockings! I have a Lost Code mare so it is really fun to read about Ribot.

summerhorse, you’re probably thinking of the same Equus article I’m referencing-- Dr. Bennett mentions that as well. She compares him more to a cheetah in terms of movement, with the body lower to the ground. I’ve looked and looked online for a free copy of the original article, to no avail. I’ll redouble my efforts to find mine at home over the weekend. If I find it, I will happily scan it in full color and post it on imgur or photobucket to share with all.

No it is a different one, in fact it was from a LONG time ago, back when Secretariat was still alive and probably in his early years at stud. It may have been on TV too (or instead), I can’t really remember. I also read the Dr. Bennett one.

I lent my magazine to someone – can’t remember who

Since I’ve found the PDF file, if anyone would like a copy via email, feel free to PM your email and I will happily share it…
May I please have your PDY flash@vicsmba.com

Thank you very much

Eric– Will be sending it shortly.

To anyone else who is interested, I finally did find the original magazine back when I was packing up to move the end of last year, so now have the entire article scanned and saved in full color. If anyone is currently interested in it, please feel free to PM with your email address and I’ll be happy to share.
