Spinoff: Anyone looking for long lost barn pals?
not a barn pal but an old trainer, anyone know Cheryl Reed (was Davidson but I know she got divorced). I rode with her at Vail in North Salem, NY, 1986-1987 and completely lost touch and don’t hear of her anymore. I’m guessing she was in her mid to late 20s back then…her eyes were two different colors (blue and brown I think). Was a very successful junior rider would have been in the late 70s/early 80s I guess but I forgot who she rode for…anyone know her and what’s she’s up to nowadays?
Cheryl is an old friend of mine as well. I last spoke with her about 4 years ago I think. She was living in Bedford at the time, and had a few kids. Possibly twins?
I have known Cheryl since she was a junior riding at Fairfield. I was grooming there at the time, and we shared rooms on the road. When I went on to work at Sunnyfield, she sometimes came over there and rode for me.

OKay… I’ll add to this

I went to Morven Park in 1987-1989. There were 4 of us that were like the 4 muskateers…
Kathy Hood- married… divorced… Still in Great Falls area???
Paige Konur??? Married now and a vet in Leesburg area??? kids… still rides…
Kay- moved to California…??? Had a great Cleveland Bay cross while at school…

ANY info would be great…

Thanks,
Lori
PM if you want!!!

I thought of another.

Abby MacBride. I bought Applesauce from her back in the early 80’s. We used to hang out, go for rides, get in trouble. Last I heard she was in Charlottesville, Va.
is this the applesauce that was a fmaou eq horse with paul v and later owned by christine tribble …now mcrae?

I didn’t know there were two Applesauces. But no, this is a different Applesauce.

I know there are some Bay Ridge (Centreville, VA) folks on here. I rode there from the late 80s to the mid 90s.

Did anyone on here go to Camp Rim Rock? I was there in the early 90s for the all-horseback riding weeks.
Hey Anna! It’s Niki. Hope all is well. I’d love to hear what you are up to - shoot me a note if you have a chance.

Anyone from Camp Friendship? I started there around 1990 as a camper in the regular equestrian camp. After three years in equestrian camp, I moved to show team with Davera. I rode on show team for another two years, and then was a JC for the show team for two years. I would love to reconnect with some of my campers!

Bonstet/Utah - I saw Carolyn Denton today and told her to check out this thread.

I worked with Lauren Peterson, whose horse is named Ticklish (“Tricksy”) over the summer. She’d been looking to relocate Tricksy and I’d love to know where she ended up if anyone knows her- I saw her old pony China Blue recently and thought about her.

And if anyone in Florida knows Carole Boylan, who is probably working with Appaloosas, I’d love to know. She was my first instructor until she had an accident that took her out of the saddle. We’ve lost touch and I’d love to know how she’s doing. She’s living in St. Something, FL. St Peter-something, St. Augustine, St. Florentine, something like that.

Tantivy Farms

Hi! I rode at Tantivy Farms in Stockbridge Georgia. I was just wondering if anyone else here did as well.

I also rode at Tamingo Farms in McDonough Georgia with Scott Armour.

What a fun and intriguing thread! I might as well throw it out there:

Anyone ride with Mary Kay Russo at Rise Up Farm in Schenectady, NY?

Just curious!

Looking for an old riding friend from college.

Anyone know Suzannah Gersten?

Originally from Miami, Florida; went to Univ of Connecticut with me in 1988-92, and then moved out to Albequerque, NM, which is where I lost touch with her.

There are a few I would love to meet up with again!!!
Melissa Silberman
Megan Brotz
Rowena HUdson

The first I rode with from age 7-9 or 10… the last 2 when we were teenagers… All from New Jersey. Rowena’s step mother rode also, Diedra(I am sure I spelled that wrong) She was maried but then divorced and I do not know if she kept the last name Hudson… She had a horse " Make A Decision" gosh in the early 90’s… He was a cute bay…
I would love love love to hear from any of them!! Amy

Two women who helped me back in the early 70s were Holly Chester and Cindy Bacon. They had a barn near the Potomac Horse Center and then moved to a barn in Rock Creek Park. They probably don’t remember me, but they gave me a wealth of information. They would take TBs off the track and retrain them. I’m sure someone here knew them.

St. Petersburg? Near the Clearwater/Indian Rocks beach area.

I rode at Tamingo too!! (and I remember Tantivy since they went to a lot of the same shows back when I boarded at Rolling meadows)

Scott has his own place now, but I see him at all the Britches and Boots shows - he’s still just as nice as he was way back when. I rode at Tamingo back in 1990/91. Send me a PM and tell me ya are!

There’s a Cindy Bacon teaching the Garrison Forest School riding program here in Baltimore County, MD. Perhaps the same one?

When I was young (12 or so) I rode with a girl named Leslie (Eckert, Eckhoff?) at Dutch Manor in Albany NY. We were close in age so I’d say she’s about 44 now.
She moved to VA and we kept up as pen pals for a while but lost touch as we got into high school. She was a nice rider and I have wondered if she stuck with it.

Not to interupt, where was the thread looking for long lost horses?
Guess I can play too, looking for Sandi (spelled it that way) White, she’d be in her thirties now, I knew her up til she was 16, we rode for a old old woman in Ashland VA, I would love to know how she did with her life and horses. I have no idea where she would be now.
Horses, I have some names and stories (same old woman) but three of them I knew went to Eileen Beckman and they got booted for being exceptionally rude animals, this was in 1993, so I expect they’re likely gone over the bridge by now anyway. I’d love to connect to the appropriate thread for this question.

I would love to reconnect with people I rode with at Hap’s barn in the 80’s and in Northern Calif in late 70’s early 80’s.

I like this thread…
Ayone every ride in Orange County, NY? Orange County Park horse shows…Heritage Farm…Annette Mohr, Billie Barr, Jennie Fisher, trainers I rode with…Dana Brammel (sp) I rode with, she did pony hunters (owned Casey Jones)…all back in 80’s…90’s
