I was just reading a thread about saddle fit and I Googled monoflap saddles.
One site says they’re “new.”
To me they look kinda like old saddles I saw occasionally as a kid back in the '60s.
Like this one (it’s a cutback, saddle-seat saddle but I’ve seen other saddles with the same structure).
Is this another case of “everything old is new again”? Because back when I first started riding what was then called “forward seat” (hunt seat) the full bottom flaps weren’t universal IME.
