Anyone know where I can buy something like a zip collared UPF shirt in men’s sizes? With the mesh sleeves?
TIA

Have you checked places like Columbia, Patagonia, other outdoor outfitters along those lines? A quick google search with “men’s long sleeve sun shirts” brought up those websites. I didn’t do any further looking though, so they might not have exactly what you’re looking for.
Kastel Denmark makes a few! http://www.kasteldenmark.com/product-category/henrik-collection-mens-uv-protective-shirt/

I can’t tell if they have mesh panels. I’m looking for something similar to the shirt I just got from Dover that zips up.
He already has a few Oxford-type shirts and one crew neck jersey. The thing is that the Oxfords aren’t appropriate for hiking, and the crew neck doesn’t protect his neck, which is where most men get skin cancer.
The Kastel shirts look okay, but the colors are dark. It really doesn’t look like any of the equestrian clothiers, all of whom have jumped on the UPF bandwagon, have considered male riders.
Yes the men’s Kastel shirts have mesh panels. Same general design as the women’s.
Under armour makes them for both men and women, sans the zipper. Look for their fishing and heat gear.
what exactly are you looking for. A shirt for riding, for show or for hiking? It is not really clear here.
REI safari shirts are perfect for hiking. Sleeves can be worn down or up, collar can unroll for higher protection. Mesh underarms and back panels for cooling. And perfect for hiking, I have gone hundreds of miles in them.
Most people use a separate neck piece for added sun protection. Most high, fitted collars are found in warmer designs, for skiing and such. Many men I see out in the sunlike desert hats with the roll down panel for the back of the neck a doorag for neck protection.
Solumbra makes a whole line of sun protective items, this ultra shirt would be favored by active outdoor summer types.
Coolibar maybe? I’m not familiar with their menswear. At the very least they should have some that are vented, but not sure about exposed/visual mesh in a men’s design (I’d think the aesthetics of the man’s underarm hair might not be completely desirable, hehe).
Essex Classics makes one, although with a covered placket oxford style collar, and no zipper.
I was hoping for one with a mock turtleneck and zipper like the ones they make for women. He’s not a rider. He does wear a bandana and/or a safari hat that hangs down over his neck. It would just be nice if there were a simple UPF shirt that gave him that protection without all the fuss.
I love my Riding Sport shirt and I wish they made them for men. Maybe one of the larger tack stores carries the Kastel men’s shirts.
I will check out the UA shirts. hoopoe, that company is a great place to look. Thanks!
I would look for cycling jerseys if you really want the zip neck, or just polo shirts I would think would work, too? Maybe also try LL Bean, they have a lot of that kind of thing.
Kastel. Love my shirts. The men’s look to be the same general design, though the colors are more boring. I would not get a cycling jersey, as those are designed to be worn in a cycling position (bent at the waist), so they would look too short in front when you are standing or sitting up on the horse. Plus, you can’t tuck them in.
Some tack shops also sell sun sleeves that you can pair with your regular polo shirt.

Re the Kastels - local shop has some that have the mesh sleeves AND mesh body panels, but I don’t seen these on the website.
Some of the cycling shirts are long enough to tuck - depends on company & style … and I suppose what your bottom wear is
The new Dressage Extensions catalog had Goode Rider SPF shirts for men. Yay!
The Kastel ones were all such dark colors. The Goode Rider one is white with gray. Just the thing!
