I found this repro facility in Litchfield: North Point Farm (mare management services)

Is Ron Emond still practicing? He’s in Bridgewater, IIRC.

He’s not really showing much because he’s basically preparing for GP dressage (but has shown a bit lower level to get mileage, despite being more suited to upper level.) Fun horse who is very HAPPY to work, lives near mares all the time and doesn’t really let them affect his work, a lot of energy but no real misbehavior.

He’s obviously not in New England, but a super nice horse. At a clinic with Alex Gerding he about lost it over this horse’s quality. :)[/QUOTE]

That is a lovely stallion!!

To the OP: better to spend abit more and find just the right stallion/vet for your mare(s) than just try to stay local because you can’t find a vet.

If you stick to chilled semen (not frozen) and make sure the stallion is shipping well before you ever begin (not to mention do the repro work for your mares before starting), working with chilled can be very successful.

The timing does not have to be as precise as with frozen…most vet with adequate ultrasound skills can do it. If there is a large TB farm ask who they use…

Good luck! I love sporthorse type Arabs.

I have no problems breeding transported/ AI, have been doing it for years. But I have had a hard time findig a decent repro vet in NE Ct. I used Langone farms(that is a long story), found my local vet had a hard time making timing work, Then found a great vet but she isn’t practicing right now, then tried two large practices and wasn’t thrilled with the results and service. I can truck them away to try another vet if needed, but I was just curious if there were any hidden gems. Sometimes the nicest horse is a family horse, and no longer being active promoted.

Many of us breeders don’t do live cover for safety and other management reasons. I breed my own mares via A/I even when my stallion is on the premises. I totally get the hidden gems thing since I’ve used a few of those myself.

I still do live cover. Conception rates are better with LC as some mares react to extenders. I have a mare like this. Her previous owners couldn’t get her in foal. My guy did in one cycle.

You can breed on-farm with raw semen and still not risk the act of live-cover.

Yes, my Profire daughter had reactions and never took with transported semen(and believe me we tried!) but when she was bred with raw semen she would take first cycle. It made for complicated breeding, but it worked for her, and gave us NC babies!

You have a Profire daughter! How cool. We had a grandson in the barn last year. Neat horse.

I’m not sure where Kruise stands(other than on the correct coast :] )but ive liked all of his babies I have seen, they have what you are looking for and more.

HG esquire is somewhere in New England and also seems to put a decent baby on the ground.

There is an Arabian Sport Horse group on Facebook. PatO

Send your mare to Tangletree for breeding maybe? I had tons of disappoint trying to breed a mare one year so sent her to Bob the next and he got the job done first try!

It is getting harder to find the Russian bred horses in NA and the ones you do find tend to be saturated with Naseem and Aswan which are not the most athletic lines. Take a look at Belarian Arabians, breeders of Russian athletes for over 30 years, program has produced multiple Tevis horses, stakes winning racehorses , National winning performance horses, Regional winning halter horses, winners at dressage and over fences, combined driving etc…all from the same bloodlines : belarianfarms.com

Desert Souvenir Arabians (Mason Arabians) in Massachusetts has a couple of nice stallions of older bloodlines and I believe they do live cover.
