Since this has gotten bumped back up, I’ll update that my horse went to Kesmarc in Kentucky and they were fabulous to work with. They did a terrific job with my horse, and helped her both mentally and physically (stall rest was a nightmare, but one week at Kesmarc and she had her happy demeanor back). They even reintroduced turnout before she came home. I visited multiple times and came away impressed every single time, the horses are remarkably happy and chill there, and each one has an individual plan coordinated with the vet, trainer, farrier, etc of your choosing. They even sent me pictures and videos! Most importantly, my horse came home sound and ready to go back to work.
They have two aquatred machines located in Aiken, SC. Engineered Equine Performance is a rehabilitation facility that just opened two months ago. They are on fb and Instagram.
You are Very lucky to live in the heart of horse country. Not all rehab facilities are the same.
I actually don’t live close, but my research showed exactly what you say, the facilities and programs are very different and I thought Kesmarc was the best option for my horse, so I shipped her there and visited periodically to check in. But every visit just confirmed that it was the right choice, the Kesmarc team was terrific – their program was a well-oiled machine that was on top of the details and most importantly my horse was very happy there!!
