Sportpony line class (Tack Question)

Good evening!

I have a question for anyone involved in sport pony breeder shows.

I have a phenomenal pony here who I have decided to take to some sportpony breeder classes. This is a bit out of my realm of expertise! Pony is about about 11hh with a very fine, feminine head and I am having the hardest time trying to find something that doesn’t overwhelm her face.
On the show info, it says either a halter or bridle - but given that she is 4, I will assume what they really mean is bridle for 3+ and halter for <3. Regardless, would really prefer to show her in a bridle.
The bridle she uses for riding is one that came with her from her previous owner, as he said he had a hard time fitting her face as well. (I think she must use a mini bridle size? Will measure). This bridle, in my opinion, still seems to swallow her up as the noseband and brow band are so thick.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a type of bridle, or where abouts I could get one to order? Or at least take a look at. Will try to upload a photo of current bridle for you all to see. I am looking for thin leather bridle to compliment, not swallow her face. Any ideas? It would be so greatly appreciated!

Schneider’s has some refined bridles for reasonable prices - http://www.sstack.com/english_bridles/

Try http://justforponies.com - they may or may not have anything. I had trouble fitting a yearling (small) pony. I bought the Americana small pony bridle from JFP and was very happy with their help with sizing. I had to end up taking in a bridle to be altered by someone who worked with leather in order to fit appropriately (the pony was impossible to fit- it was NOT an issue with JFP, they were fabulous to work with!!!), and was very pleased with the end result.

Agree with JFP. Definitely give them a call. I really like Bobby’s bridles (you can get from JFP). Really good quality for the price, and they fit well.

As everyone else has mentioned, www.justforponies.com will have exactly what you are looking for! And yes, with her being 4 years old, she should show in a bridle.

Someone else asked a similar question in rhe Warmblood Breeders group on Facebook. Another person suggestwd this link: http://www. horze.com/Horze-Aprilia-Show-Bridle/10102,en-US,pd.html.

It’s a very nice-lookind bridle with rolled nose and cheek pieces. The cost was $63, which included shipping for the person who purchased it.

Brilliant! Thank you so much - that is exactly what I was thinking might compliment her face better!
And thank you all for passing on Just For Ponies - will be exploring that avenue as well. Their selection of teenie pony things is incredible.

Many thanks!
