Sportz-Vibe ZX blanket?

Does anyone use it? Likes/dislikes? Worth the cost?

I’m wondering if it might be helpful for my senior gelding who’s rehabbing a tendon injury. The stall rest is working (tendon is healing really well) but I worry about the stiffness and discomfort from lack of movement. Vet recommended TheraPlate/EquiVibe sessions, but I don’t have access to one locally and even a short term rental would cost more than this blanket probably. I’m thinking that this might be the next best thing?

So I’ve used one that I borrowed from a friend a few times. Is it neat? Sure. Is it worth the price? Absolutely NOT. Now I used the original one, not the ZX, so it was a mere $650  It’s a cheap cotton sheet with little vibrating panels that velcro to it, and it’s wired to a little control button area on the sheet. The vibrations can be increased or decreased, but honestly I noticed no difference with my horse (who is arthritic and tends to get tight over his back especially when it’s colder out.)

It definitely will not hurt your horse, but the ZX is almost $900 for a mesh sheet with vibrating panels velcroed on. In my experience, and maybe others have had better results with this product, it’s a huge expensive gimmick. You know how we all dream of “if I won the Mega Millions, I would buy ABC for my horses and do all of these different things for them”? Well this sheet wouldn’t even make my list if I was rolling in millions. I was THAT unimpressed with it.

If he’s stiff/uncomfortable in his stall, maybe a Back on Track mesh sheet would help loosen him up and relax his muscles? Fraction of the cost and it seems to be a lot more effective.
