Sprenger bits

I bought a “new with tags” Sprenger bit on Ebay, and found it is “Argentan” or German silver. I thought seller had mis-spelled “Aurigan”, so it is my mistake.
I am wondering how much of a difference there is in the 2 metal compounds. German silver is 60% copper, 20 % zinc and 20 % nickel, while the Aurigan is 80 % copper with no nickel. Theoretically, the nickel has been removed because some horses have an allergy to this metal, but how likely is this? Has anyone found a significant difference in acceptance or softness in the mouth?

It depends on the horse. Some dislike anything but plain old stainless.
