Wow that was a crazy crazy class! Spooners fall was scary, and so was that one woman rider (didn’t catch her name)
Will Simpson rode that course beautifully.

A jump off in the Derby?? wow… Q.Judge horse was amazing.
Viney, was that the music you were asking about?[/QUOTE]
They played the March of The Toreadors from Carmen earlier, but the victory gallop is definitely the Radetzy March.
What a competition! Only seventeen clears in the Derby out of 587 rounds over time, and we got to see two.

It was Schuyler Riley and her mare Rivierra…
they were both ok, except for her ego as she said!
Haven’t had a chance to watch the Derby footage yet, but yikes, tough weekend for Spooner! He came off in the Saturday QEII Cup too on Cristallo.

Ahhh that’s good. I was concerned for the horse initially because it looked like she was limping. But when she went to walk her back, she seemed fine.
I also feel bad for Spooner! He must be loading up in the Advil today.
He almost went clear on Cristallo in the Derby… just one rail!! and finished 4th. He fell off his mare Zaprilia.

Zaprilla is actually a stallion
oops… just saw the name and thought it sounded “feminine”… my bad!
I was lucky enough to be there this weekend. It was my first time being at spruce meadows during a summer tournament week. One of the best experiences of my life. It was amazing.
Anyone know if the Spruce stuff today is supposed to be streaming? All I get is the little pinwheel spin on the live cam…

I’m not sure if they will be doing any streaming, as there are no classes in the International ring this week. When I go to the live feed it’s just video of the clock tower.
Is it possible to see replays of the classes from this past weekend?

The CBC has most of the major classes available to rewatch. Here’s the derby link:

Looks like riders are walking the course right now. Hard to tell for sure with my small monitor, but there is some action out there.
The live feed is running commercials, so afternoon classes should start streaming soon. Happy viewing!
Six coming back for the jump-off.
