Who is Rich riding for the victory gallop? That’s not Flexible. Looks like Mika???
They said that they found out at the last GP that Flexible does not do well in the victory circle so he is on a stand in.

Woah it definitely it. They mentioned Flexible wasn’t too happy during Thursday’s awards ceremony and that he was riding someone else but I didn’t notice who it was at first.

Not sure who he’s on, but they did announce it was not Flexible. That was funny how the horse wasn’t quite sure what he was trying to do with that little mallet and the trophy.

It was Mika! Wonder how that happened…I also laughed when Mika bolted a little. Richard Fellers needs to wrap himself in bubble wrap until he gets to London!

The Canadian ribbons still confuse me, even after all these years.

Red is first, blue is second, white is third, yellow is 4th. I think that green is 5th and pink is 6th?

I wonder who is was, those many years ago, who decreeded that the US was not going to award ribbons the traditional way?

Yes, I was totally thinking during the victory gallop, Put your helmet back on!!

It would be great if everyone who watched any of these classes took a minute to thank USEF Network for the live feed, either via their web site or Facebook. Hopefully they will continue!

Anyone know if Robert Whitaker’s horse Catwalk is the same horse who did that amazing jumping at WEF a few years ago when the bridle broke? That mare was ridden by a Canadian then.
LOL I was right there when that happened, and was amazed along with everyone else at the time…bridle somehow just came off (it was a hackamore) and the horse kept jumping around like it was still on till he got to the end of the course, which was near the end of the ring by the in gate, and JUST slipped off the track to the last jump(s?), despite an arena full of horsemen trying to steer him over them by ESP.

But no, that was a different Catwalk altogether, about half the size of this one, too.

What a great few days of show jumping it’s been. It will be very interesting to see not just who is on the short list but the order as well.

^ I believe that the mare was clear until she went by the last jump, right? That was an amazing thing.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if an equestrian has ever carried the flag for the US at the opening or closing ceremony?

the other Catwalk was a mare ridden by Canadian Darrin Dlin. her bridle didn’t break somehow her hackamore slipped off, she was jumping clean and had to pull up to the last fence.

Micheal Matz

Yes - Michael Matz YEAh !!! USA

Michael Matz carried the flag in the closing ceremonies in Atlanta.

Mmm, I don’t think he “pulled up to the last jump,” I think he was trying to get her to jump it, but unfortunately she didn’t quite take the hint.

Can’t blame her, though.

Yepp that is correct…!

This is going to be a dumb question, can Reed make the team with both horses (Cylana and Mika) or just one? What an amazing Spruce for Rich Fellers and Flexible!

I’m pretty sure she can only pick one horse. It’s going to be a tough call for her. Both horses are really nice!

Selection process is all here–http://usef.org/documents/highPerformance/showJumping/2012OG_SJ_SelectionProc.pdf

Also, check out the drug rules.

Definitely will. Even though I’m handicapped with my Hughesnet limits (but I saved up my “tokens” for this week!), and there was quite a bit of buffering at the end of Thursday night, this live coverage has worked about the best of anything I’ve attempted to watch from my location. Lots of playbacks or other coverage pause regularly.

And it saves the cost of the airline ticket!
