Squamous Cell Cancer of Penile region

Has anyone ever dealt with Squamous Cell of the penis. My friends horse has pink cauliflower growths over the tip of his penis and @ 1.5 inches up. It doesn’t bother him only itches and smells horribly. She contacted a vet and he stated he will resection @ 2 inches of it and has had success without it growing back. He will be sedated and have the procedure done at his clinic.

My friend is curious if anyone else has ever had anything like this done? He is 18 yrs old and is in perfect health other than this.

That sounds awful…hope it all goes well

If you search this forum, there have been several cases of penile cancers discussed here.

We board retirees and have had a couple of older geldings have partial phallectomies over the years. The procedure seems to be surprisingly easy on them with a quick recovery.

Was a biopsy done?

We had one that had one such rapidly growing tumor at 28.
He was operated on and cisplatin beads implanted, but it came back a few months later.
He was operated again and it didn’t come back that time.

He never missed a minute of excellent quality of life.

There is another poster here, eventgroupie2 ,with Willie, that also underwent that operation, three times.
