Stabling in Williamsburg, VA

Dear List -

Am potentially moving to Williamsburg, Virginia, for approximately eight months beginning in August 2016.

I am completely unfamiliar with the equestrian climate, if you will, in that area. I wonder whether anyone knows of individuals or farms willing to rent a pasture and run-in shed to board my horse (a few miles of trails for hacking out would be ideal, too).

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas.

Thank you -

Andrew Paulhamus

Two stables to consider are Stonehouse Stables/Tara Best and Cedar Valley Farm/Betty Dye. Both are located in Toano which is 5 miles west from Williamsburg proper. If they do not offer pasture board either farm would be knowledgeable about other places that might provide what you want.

Check Virginiaequestrian.com within the time frame of the move logistics.

Neither Stonehouse Stables or Cedar Valley offer pasture board. The only place in the area that still may is Walnut Acres. They do have a FB page. Not sure about a website. They are in Williamsburg. https://www.facebook.com/walnutacresfarm/

Completely off topic, but I grew up in Williamsburg and started riding lessons when I was 8 years old at a place near Jamestown on the James River. It was called Drummond Fields. It was built in the late 80’s. Curious if it is there still. I have fond memories of it.
