Stadium jumping levels in Europe

Can someone tell me what the heights are at the various levels in Europe- Level B,L,M. Z etc.? I am sure that there are others as well. I have looked on Google but only find FEI levels and I am actually looking for the levels at the smaller, more local competitions in Europe.

TIA!

I’ve wondered that myself! In Ireland we make it very simple. It’s by height. Such as today I’m jumping the 1.10. Or horse is a good 1.10 horse but not consistent enough in the 1.20’s. Or horse is solid 1.30m. And so on and so on. And age classes are known heights too.

Hope someone answers!

Terri

Those are Dutch levels (and I believe the Belgians use the same nomenclature). The heights are B=1m, L=1.1m, M=1.2m, Z-1.3m, ZZ=1.35m. Above that is “national” and FEI levels.

The same letters are used for Dressage, with the B-L-M-Z corresponding to roughly the 1st-2nd-3rd-4th levels used in NA.

There is no standard “European” nomenclature. Referring to heights jumped in metres is the easiest way to cross cultures.

Seeing as we are in informational mode… here are the German levels (btw, open to corrections on these, so pipe in if I’m wrong).

E - up to 0.85 m
A- 0.85 -1.05 m
L - 1.05 - 1.15 m
M - 1.20 -1.40 m
S - 1.40 -1.55 m

Once again, I believe the same letters are used for Dressage and Eventing.
