I have a very odd space in my barn that has been the “junk collection corner” for years. I am thinking of bringing home a miniature donkey, and eyeing this spot for a stall for said donkey. It measures 6 foot wide, and we could build the stall 12 foot out. Is this sufficient room for a mini?
we before have taken a 12by12 stall that we made two stalls for the miniature horses, subdivided the standard stall into two 8by6 for the miniatures (both of these miniatures are under 32 inches tall)
everything was attached in a method that allowed easy conversion back into a standard stall
Thank you for the info! Eventually they would get a 12x12 space. We have an elder horse who hasn’t been doing well with the heat this summer, and we are hoping a donkey may be a suitable replacement for the one that will be left behind.
Yes if he can lay down comfortably and get up, turn around OK and has lot’s of turnout he should be ok. I have one of mine in an oddly shaped stall and he does fine.
Mu 34" mini has a 10’Wx12’D stall & it’s plenty large for him.
