I’m looking to put in some automatic water buckets in my enclosed stalls. It does get down to freezing a few days out of the year. I’m looking at the classic equine ones or others. Can anyone give me an idea which brand works better. Doesn’t need to be heated, just insulated
Have heard nothing but good things about these!

I had a BO in Ohio that made her own bucket insulators with 1" foam and duct tape. They worked extremely well.
Looking for automatic ones, any ideas?
Nelson waterers are pretty well known and respected. They have installation instructions for freezing climates.
What do you mean by automatic? If you want automatic waterers you will need to run water lines and if you get any below freezing temps at all , you will need to insulate the pipes and have insulated waterers too ( if run above ground) . They have cup waterers or larger waterers( like a stock tank type) that can service 2 stalls .
We had Ritchie and they were both plastic( inside the barn ) and metal ones outside in pastures. I have seen similar models made out of plastic at both my farm and feed store. You would need to run your water lines underground for those. I had one inside that was not heated and I just placed a 100 watt regular light bulb inside where the water line came up to fill the waterer and it kept the water flowing and the water unfrozen if we happened to have cold weather.
When we were house hunting, I saw a barn with these:

The owners liked them well enough. They wintered in Florida with their horses, so drained the water line and shut everything down well before freezing temps.
It definitely wasn’t going to work for us, living there year round. And cleaning them looked like a hassle. But might be about what you’re looking for?
We used those in the barn I boarded at in CA. The one and only time I remember that we had a below 32 degree cold snap we had broken water pipes and flooding everywhere.
Other than that they were nice and worked well.
can you post a link or two to the ones you are speaking of or know of?
Thanks Simkie! I thought she was speaking of a automatic Stall Bucket…not a pasture one---- I couldn’t figure what she meant.
so, competitve with like the Nelson, etc…— not a ‘stall bucket’ at all ! (duh…no wonder I was so confused!)
