Stallion choices for Jazz mare

Took my mare to the keuring this fall. She was 2nd premium and they suggested breeding to a stallion that will increase length of leg. She is only 15’3 although she doesn’t look that small. Gaits scored 7.5, 7, 7. They liked her good attitude. She is a Jazz though, very hot in mind and spooky unless you have her very engaged.
Judges suggested Bordeaux for her but one of the other mare owners there was going on about his OCD issues. I thought that had been unfounded and I really like him but have haven’t seen any offspring.
She is by Jazz and out of a G line german mare who doesn’t really have any notable names but she did compete at GP.
I like a hot horse, so that isn’t an issue for me but I would like more of the modern elegant leggy type offspring.
I would like to stay with KWPN or Erkend so the foal will be Register A. I have some stallions in mind but would like some opinions.

I would use Painted Black if you can get semen!

No input here at all?

Take this for what it is worth. I saw a video on Kareen’s ( who posts here) Facebook page a while back of the Bordeaux son Buckingham. He is standing at Celle and I believe is Oldenburg. I really liked what I saw - lots of suspension, a quicker hind leg that steps under and none of that fancy front leg where the hind leg is just shuffling along. I think one of the semen brokers has a video of him at three and it was not as impressive. He looks to be a lot leggier than Bordeaux was at that age from video’s I have seen. But sometimes four year old stallions bulk up by the time they are eight.

I have no idea if the Dutch like his type at all. And I have no idea of his OCD status. His walk looked pretty good too. Something that can be lacking in some bloodlines. However he may have some Jazz back in his pedigree and you may not want to double up on that. I don’t think he has a lot progeny out there either due to his age.

Freestyle or Sir Donnerhall
Everdale and Florianus II

Not certain about registry options on the first two but I had to include Sir D because I have seen a Jazz mare crossed to Sir D and the result was drool-worthy!

Staying away from sir Donnerhall as I’m not wanting to incorporate Sandro hit on this mare.
I like buckingham, as well as barroso, foundation and Dannebrog.

Does someone actually ride the Sir D x Jazz cross? ;o)

I would stay far away from anything S line on a Jazz mare and that is coming from someone who owns a Sandro Hit gelding and has bred to SD three times.

Buckingham is a good suggestion. Bordeaux’s semen is iffy, but he makes SUPER rideable, modern types. A son of his would be a good choice.

I would also suggest Painted Black as he is consistent in producing very quiet minds and has a good track record with Jazz mares. I doubt he will make longer front legs but to me that is a trait that is purely aesthetic.
