Stallion comparison. Negro, Lord Leatherdale, Jazz, Floriscount, Diamond Hit, Deniro

I’m not looking to improve all of the areas my questions hit on… I want to keep the good parts of my mareS and not go backwards in some cases. All of the stallions are on my short list. (edited to explain 2 mares in question)

Which are most likely to pass on exceptional movement with knee action?

Which will put on a well set on neck?

Which commonly improve a straight hind?

Which will pass on the best top line?

Which pass on the best neck?

Which commonly add length of leg?

Which commonly passes a good loin connection?

Which will not add length of back?

Which commonly add power and impulsion?

Rank the order of temperament they are known to pass on from best to worst in terms of hotness.

The stallions on your list are so different from each other that I can’t imagine them all being on the list for your ONE mare. For example, I bred two mares to Jazz - one by Wanroij and out of a Volckmar mare, the other by Contango and out of a Doruto mare. The results could not have been more different! One is quite modern and tall (17.2) with good movement but weak hind pasterns, while the other one will be lucky to get to 16.2 and is built like the proverbial brick house!

My advice to you is to understand completely what your mare’s bloodlines bring to the table in addition to what her own attributes are.

Good luck!

Actually there are two mares in question. I should have stated mareS. They are both very different types with completely different bloodlines. After the fact, I thought the list kind of strange to lump them into one as well, but I knew there were multiple mares involved. sorry! LOL And both are totally different types.

I know you only have two by Jazz, but in looking at others, would your results be typical? Where he’s not a reliable producer of modern type.

You should look at the KWPN foal reports for a lot of these. They will have seen many foals. Just a suggestions.

Do you have to have a subscription? I looked at their site and to get stallion info other than pedigree a subscription is required. I don’t think it used to be like that.
