Stallion Options

Looking for additional insight for options on my stallion list. Mare in question is sired by a TB (Mr. Prospector x Secretariat mare) and out of a Simsalabim mare. She is smaller framed, but generally well put together though her neck is set a bit low. She is a correct mover but could benefit from suspension and more expression over all. Correct jumper with nice style, seems to have plenty of scope and can have a nice jumper hind end. Holds a tension through her back and isn’t the easiest in the bridle. Not spooky.

Looking to improve neck and loin connection, more impulsive / jump in canter, not detract from and potentially add to jump style and scope. Amateur friendly temperament is a must. I like the versatile type - style for the hunters, but could play in the low-mid jumper rings and would be open to going 2nd/3rd in the dressage ring respectably. Options that I’ve bookmarked so far have been: Navarone; Balta Czar; Landkoenig; maybe Valentino. Not restricted by registry at this point, who would you add to the long list and anyone I’ve picked so far make you think nahh?

FWIW there were two Landkoenig babies that I knew at the same time. One was 5-ish and still really green and the other was a bit older and doing the 1.10. They just didn’t do much for me. Both had some personality quirks. They looked and were built completely differently. If you go with him it seems like quality of mare is more important than what he brings to the table in my limited sample size. At least with those two it didnt seem like he stamps his babies with a certain look or way of going.

Others may have way more experience and info on him than me though.

Love Valentino. I have one out of my TB mare. He is very personable, laid back, and a major improvement over his mother.
