Anyone know when the Holsteiner auction is going to have info and pics up? It supposedly starts on January 15th.

We are still adding auction details for some stallions, and also getting new stallions.
Does anyone know the story on Banderas? He appears to be the only one of Dreamscape’s stallions NOT donated to the auction. Crazy show schedule maybe? If anyone knows, I don’t want to bother Jennifer, but am curious.
And…I also saw that Silvercreek’s 3 stallions are all only available FROZEN in 2012? Uggg, my choices are getting more and more limited by the minute.
I’ve seen over the years an increase in frozen semen donations. And I totally see why. I’ve run the MBG auction for over a decade now, and some of the stories the stallion owners have told me about how mare owners have treated stallion owners, I continue to be flabbergast. Many think since they won an auction, so EVERYTHING needs to be free for them. Many stallion owners just don’t donate anymore due to the headaches. I think with frozen, it’s just easy, they can donate, and the mare owner can ship the semen when they want it before the mare is ready to breed.
Some have been so generous to donate, for example, 3 doses, and offer to allow up to 3 foals registered with the 3 doses! That is really, really generous, and going beyond I would expect from a winning bid!
Wow, some people are not to be believed… These are donations folks, not requirements. And, the method of semen delivery is not a requirement either. Hassle? You bet.

Having been very involved with the OHBS/GOV auction for some years now, I have to agree with the above. We hear every year from SOs who say they have more problems with auction winners than other MOs. Some folks want to substitute stallions, or they demand fresh semen when the donation is for frozen, or they want fresh semen AND frozen doses as “back-up”, or they want the SO (or registry) to absorb the booking fee, collection fees, etc., or they want the stallion’s collection schedule altered, or they want the SO to present the stallion for approval with another registry, or they want to do ETs and get multiple foals from the donation, etc., etc.
We are this year strongly considering BANNING a certain bidder from last year who not only gave us a 3 week run-around on paying for her winning bid, but then also stiffed the repro clinic for collection/shipping fees (the SO ended up having to pay the bill).
Some of these folks just amaze me.

We have added a few more to the OHBS/GOV - Weser Ems auction. Nomination deadline is 5 pm Sunday, but we are pretty close to our maximum load. It’s a really nice list, with lots of great choices!

It would be nice to see a current photo of Routinier used. He is competing at FEI.

Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders SSA-Feb.12
Hosted by the Maritimes Chapter, this year’s auction will be Sunday, February 12th.
It’s time to be checking out this year’s great stallion line-up, and getting your bidder’s registration.
Check out the January issue of Warmbloods Today, or the Canadian Horse Journal for the line-up.
Head on over to www.canadianwarmbloods.com and go to the stallion list. Those nominted for the SSA have an asterik by their name on the main list and you can pull up their full page, link to the owner’s website, etc.
Julie Fulton is once again managing the auction, and is awesome to work with. Will post more details as I receive them. The CWHBA Stallion Directory should be in members hands by the 1st of February.
Holsteiner auction
Tried clicking on the Holsteiner auction which is supposed to be up to day, but I get an error message, “404 Error File Not Found
The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.”. I am stuck with my leg up for the weekend because I had my hip injected so am wanting to do some looking now before the work week hits… Anyone else have better luck?
