Stallion suggestions for AHS reg Michelangelo/Calypso II mare?

My mare is due early Feb '13 for a Bellisimo M foal. This will be her first foal

Depending on the baby, I will repeat the cross or look for another stallion. Frozen is fine

Looking for proven international GP producers. Mare needs more elasticity/rounder movement, higher/longer neckset. Throwing smaller would be nice.

Would like to keep mare’s sensitivity, uphill build and movement and quick hindleg

I’m breeding for myself so a bit spicy is fine too.

Thoughts so far:
repeat Bellisimo M
Bretton Woods
Fuerst Piccolo
Ampere(?)
Olivi

Over 100 views and no suggestions?

You state you want “proven international GP producers”, but how many on your list meet that requirement?

Both Bellisimo and Olivi have offspring competing internationally.

I am asking for ideas… Most of the stallions who’s offspring I like because they bring the improvement I want don’t (yet- hopefully) have babies competing at that level.

I was hoping for thoughts/suggestions from the very good breeder who post here.

Bretton Woods is too young to have offspring under saddle, much less international GP offspring, and he is close to 18 hands, so I doubt he will produce smaller. Bellsimo M is not too big, but I am not sure that he will help the neck set (I love my Bellsimo filly, but she has the same short neck as her dam). He does have offspring competing very successfully in the small tour as well as being an intermational GP horse himself. He is not known to improve the hind leg. He does throw an excellent temperament.

What about one of the Wolkentanz brothers? The offspring I know have had very good hind legs and beautiful long, uphill necks. W II has certainly produced international GP horses (for example Wakana), not sure about W I.

Since you don’t mind spicy, how about Jazz? Or Negro? Or even Ferro?

What about other stallions on the WBFSH top sire stats? http://www.wbfsh.org/files/Dressage_2012_sire-progeny.pdf

Also - since I don’t have access to my other computer, can you refresh my memory on which Olivi offspring other than Triviant are at international GP level? I also can’t think of any Belissimo M offspring at the moment that are competing at international GP level.

Ouh, I like thos lines. Michelangelo and Calypso II…
I do not post becasue I think I am one of the good breeders you would like to comment.
Wolkentanz I certainly brings on elasticity and swing with a good active hindleg. Neckset should also be good. He compared to his brother can throw a bit smaller (I bred two fullbrothers one something like 1,65m or such and the other one over 1,70m). They are very rideable. With Calypso I would also pay attention of good hindleg conformation. He can forward his not so great hindleg through the generations. There is at least one GP horse Wito Corleone. One has to take into account that he was not stationed in an area throughout his life were he found great mares.
Wokenstein II might also fit the bill. He may not throw as nice and springy as Wolkentanz, who is outstaqnding in my eyes for that, he certainly produces very nice horses.
Don Frederico may also come to my mind, but am not too sure about correctness of legs and of neckset for a mare where you are asking for neckset and I think of Calypso hindleg.
Does Da Caprio exist ? I really liked him and his offspring regarding conformation, but can not comment on elasticity. I remember the conformation but not the gaits. And since he left Germany, I did not really look into him. I would not go dutch, but that is taste. I for myself do not see elasticity can come from the dutch lines.

Oh and Wolkentanz I Semen on the leg-up auction available !!!

Alexandra- good thoughts… And yes I was hoping you would comment

A note about my list- I am aware they haven’t all produced what I’m looking for. But I have liked the young horses/foals I have seen from them
I guess, what I’m trying to say is I don’t want “foal producers” or “young horse producers” I want a reasonable chance of GP

I like Jazz and his offspring a lot. But not known for more elasticity and often have “funny” neck sets. Same with Gribaldi.
Hohenstein, I like but as I understand, throws heavy. I love Traks in general.

I’ve given some thought to Florestan, but the tendency to throw a slower hindleg is what I’ve heard of. I really like the elasticity of the F lines. If Fidermark was alive/available, that’d be my ideal… Sadly not an option

Which I do not think can be shipped to New Zealand, so PLEASE don’t bid on it.

I don’t live in NZ (I did when I first joined this board)
I’m in the USA

Oh, then bid! I assumed you were in NZ from your username. As they say, never assume anything.
