Standlee Alfalfa Pellets - is there powder/dust in the bag?

Do Standlee alfalfa pellets have a lot of powder or alfalfa dust in the bag?

I can get cheap 50 lb bags of non-branded alfalfa pellets from the farmer’s co-op in my area, but there’s a lot of alfalfa “dust” in the bag. Of course, I have a hard time getting my horses to eat the powder/dust dry and only one of the horses will eat wet pellets/food.

I’ll switch to Standlee, which I can get locally, if they have very little powder/dust.

We’ve been feeding the Standlee for several years and haven’t experienced a lot of dust. We dump two or three bags at a time into the large metal garbage can from which we feed; when we’ve reached the bottom of the can, there’s little to no dust remaining.

Very very little.

Agreed, there is routinely very very little dust in Standlee alfalfa pellets. I have been using soaked Standlee alfalfa pellets ever winter to supplement my horses’ winter diets for years.
I have to travel a bit to get Standlee Alfalfa pellets, and ran out recently. So I stopped by another feed store which is closer, but doesn’t sell Standlee. The guy who worked there put a bag of brand something alfalfa pellets n my car.
I got it to the barn, opened the bag, and poof, the dust was insane. Scooped out some pellets to soak in warm water, more powder. Dust and powder everywhere. I threw the bag away, and made the drive to get the Standlee pellets the next day.

Very little like others have said. Now their chopped alfalfa I find is like a bag of complete dust - I stopped feeding it as it was making me cough just opening the bags.

I’ve never had an issue with their alfalfa pellets.

No, very little.

Yes, the chopped stuff is horrible. I didn’t need it anymore, so I gave it to one of the barn workers for her rabbits. They wouldn’t touch it because it was too fine and dusty for them also.

Standlee pellets have very little dust, check their website for coupons too!!! If your tractor supply or whatever you buy them from is anything like mine I can print out 1, 2, or 10 coupons because no matter which email you put in you get the same UPC code and I can use them for 10 bags. If they are a little dusty at all you can always just spray them with a little bit of water.

Triple Crown chopped forage is the lowest dust chopped hay I have ever found. They put some kind of oil on it but my horse always loved it and they have different varieties as far as safe starch, regular hay, timothy, ect.

Very little…UNNNNLLESSSSSS Tractor Supply Co has mishandled them as they commonly do.

Very little dust, and when I open the bag, the pellets smell just like nice alfalfa hay.
