I got the composite toe boots today in the mail from Twinkle Amber. They are AMAZING. Like walking on a cloud!
Out of curiosity (because it really matters in the industry circles for DH and I), what boots and what was their certification (OSHA/ASTM/ANSI)? If you don’t mind?
I really don’t remember but it happened so long ago that I’m sure the quality has improved a lot.
I hope so! Hope you are okay now
Totally fine except for an illogical fear of steel toed boots!
My understanding is that old steel toe boots were designed to cut the toes off if hit right as that was more the point than dealing with crushed toes…it could be that old school steel toes just happened to do that. I did hear more than one story of lost toes.
Modern ‘steel toes’ are more commonly composite and so a better job of just acting as a wall without the ‘knife’ effect. I think my newer work shoes that are issued are actually composite, but we still call the steel toes.
Either way, it’s never been a concern for me around horses but I did have about 4k lbs on my toe once in my work shoes and some pp
Eople were freaking out but I was just a bit embarrassed and waiting for them to get the pallet off my foot.
