Wow! What a fantastic ride. Well deserving the win. The electricity in the crowd was really great.
It was a terrible shame to lose 2 of the dressage competitors.

Peters and horse looked tremendous and deserved the win.
Leslie Morse was eliminated when her horse was decidedly “off”. So, she is out of the competition and won’t ride the freestyle.
Jan’s young mare was spooking at everything and only scored a 53. He will compete in the freestyle, but has little chance to win it.
Adelinde Cornelissen & Parzival and Leslie Morse & Kingston are out.
I also really enjoyed the performances of Ashley Holzer & Pop Art as well as Hans Peter Minderhoud & Exquis Nadine. It was very cool to see Briar 899.
I just read the news about Ravel and Peters on Dressage Daily. It gave me goosebumps! I wish I could have been there…Congratulations to Steffen and Ravel. I did get to see the duo at the annual KWPN meeting last month and they debuted their new freestyle for us, which was a highlight of the meeting. They gave me goosebumps then too. Rock on Ravel! I am so happy for Iron Spring Farm as well: Ravel is by their beloved and recently deceased stallion Contango, and it is so awesome to see Ravel do Contango proud this way.
I am thrilled for Steffen! I can’t wait to see some video or SOMETHING! I am dying to see this. I love that pair!

are you sure Rafalca will be allowed to ride the freestyle?
I thought the FEI rules say you have to have at least a 58% in the GP to ride the freestyle in a CDI. perhaps this isn’t considered a CDI?
I think it used to be 55% but was just raised.

I am on the universal sports site and it says I am watching the video but I see a black screen and hear nothing. . .
LTN, try closing the window and starting all over again. It can be a bit flakey, I’ve noticed.
I thought Steffan Peters’ ride was one of the nicest GP rides I have ever seen. We all go on about it being a trusting partnership, and I just saw two living breathing beings in total harmony when I watched that.
Poor Jan Ebeling. But it just goes to show that dreadful rides happen to the best of riders. He didn’t get rough or lose his temper, just ploughed on with making the best of a bad job.
Ah but by continuing on he will no doubt have a much better ride the next time. It must be the smart thing to do. Well, you pays your money, you gets to use the ring and do some schooling!

If you get the channel Universal Sports, at least in my town, they are going to run Equestrian starting at 7pm tonight for 2.5 hours. I’m in heaven!
Can the organizer make an exception for Rafalca if he wants to? It’s a small class and I suppose for audience appeal…Rafalca is incredible. Just incredible. It would be kind of sad to not have her go. I don’t know how much they are allowed in the ring outside the class, but a little time in there might be all she needs.

Isn’t this the same mare he rode in WCLV 2005 for the test ride?
Yes…She is lovely…but was veeeery suspicious of the judges at C and the corner. Jan rode a very tactful test.
Was it the corner where the camera and photogs were ? Isabell said something to them during her test. 
Jan handled it well of course, and really helped her get around. It became a little lesson in how to ride in the situation like that.
Satchmo had the problem with the photographers at the A end of the arena, Rafalca had the problems at the C end.
And no, Jan and Rafalca will not be in the Freestyle.

It was a stunning job, really.
Of course, with ours, we are taking a bucket of oats, and having him eat with his head in the judge’s pavillion before the ring closes, :lol:
Too bad horses don’t watch videos, you could videotape the arena and give them some popcorn, sit them in front of your big screen tv, and have them watch it, LOL.
