Steve Roman packs it in . . .

and says farewell. If you’ve got a couple of days to read all this, good luck. It is a diatribe with glimpses of an apology to lackluster effort, a slight reference to theory being a hobby, a complete review of his life as navigated through self-worship, seasoned with his opinions on the industry. My guess is that he is retiring because the HSUS didn’t invite him to be on their new horse welfare advisory board.

As the website will not be updated, it appears that no one is interested in buying the rights or carrying the theory further into the future.

Getting old sucks, but this is one farewell the horse racing industry will survive without missing a step.

For those who might be interested, here is a free updated 2016 pdf download of Steve Roman ’ s “Dosage: Pedigree and Performance.”

I guess I am a fast reader less than a cup of coffee to read and digest.

I think you are way off base on your summary. My take away doesn’t come any where close to your curmudgeon take away.

There is far more I agree with then I don’t. IMO and experience he sums up things pretty concisely.

I have never completely “bought into” his Dosage but didn’t dismiss it either.

This hit home for me, I have struggled with it also. Much more so in the 15+ years since going back to the hands on side of horses and the business of.

Checked and it is up. If all else fails pm me your email and I will send it to you.

As an aside, it does appear that Roman ’ s work will be carried on by his UK associate Steve Miller. These links represents his take on the aged theory.
