Our pony turned 30 this April, and we’d like to do a photoshoot for her. The kids would love to make her sparkly for it, after seeing photos similar to this one. Where do people find the gold leaf or sparkles that adhere so well to the coat? I have lots of Twinkle Toes on hand, because kids and ponies, but nothing more substantial.
That looks like silver leaf. You just use some sticky tacky material on the hair to stick it.
Michaels is a good resource for it.
For a while I kept seeing ads for Glittermarx.

They sell individual supplies and kits.
glue sticks work decently for temporary sticking things to a horse’s coat- I would think you could do that, rub on some glue stick and then bits of silver leaf or rhinestones or sprinkle glitter on or something.
I hope you post a photo afterwards!
No real help on specific products but I know a bunch of Disney runners use glitter in their costumes so there may be some topical safe glitter products that somewhat fall under the “running category”. Hopefully that helps point in the right direction!
GLITTERMARX should be what you are looking for! But also, I think its elmers glue dabbed on & sparkles sprinkled on top. So if you didn’t want to do the patterns, thats an option just for sparkles.
Thanks so much everyone! It never occurred to me to stick our own sparkles on the pony with a glue stick. Anything kids safe should also be pony safe, so I will start checking our craft supplies. I will definitely return with pictures if we get this accomplished.
You could just supply the kids with boxes of chalk.
