I have a 2 year old warmblood filly who has sticky stifles. Is this something that needs vet intervention or is it something she’ll outgrow?
So common when they are butt-high. Full time turnout if possible (and not already done). Make sure nutrition is high, keep weight lean.
Can you get a conformation-type picture of her?
I had one whose stifles locked periodically as a yearling and 2 year old. Now 4, and no problems in the last 2 years. I was told they outgrow it. I had to periodically watch youtube videoes on how to unlock the stifles.
Granted mine is a Chincoteague Pony and not a warmblood, but he had very sticky stifles from about 9 months to the early/middle of his 2yo year. He turned 3 in early May 2023 and hasn’t had any issues in at least 6 months. My colt’s were always the worst after a growth spurt. My vet advised lots of turnout and that he’d likely grow out of it, which seems to be true.
