Still loving Saddleseat!

Anyway, after my Cat Food Drama ™ over on OT, I thought I’d move on to something more cheerful.

I’m still taking SS lessons, and I’m still loving it! I look forward to my lessons so much. The barn is fantastic. Everyone is so friendly. I still can’t get over that after the drama-filled barns I’ve been accustomed to, except the tiny private barn I board my horse at. It’s so utterly different to walk in and have everyone say “Hello!” and “Nice to see you!” as if they really mean it. That is just as important as my love of the horses and the riding.

I love the horses, naturally. I had the misconception that you didn’t use your lower leg at all, only to find out that you do. Once I had that problem straightened out, my proficiency has grown by leaps and bounds. It’s difficult to do a circle without using your lower leg! :joy:

The stable DOES have gaited horses, so some day when I’m ready, my instructor says I can learn how to ride a gaited horse. I’m over the moon!

Yay! I’m over the moon with ya, taking lessons at a small, very friendly western barn. No gaited horses, and I do miss those, but the atmosphere is so nice and friendly and relaxed, and I am having so much fun, and learning to use my lower leg in a whole different way! Ride on!
