Hi. How important is it for my leathers to perfectly match my saddle? I have an Antares saddle and I just bought new leathers and they are dark brown. My saddle is more of the orangey-brown color and could probably be darker… but I don’t have that much time for conditioning these days. I will probably send the leathers back…Not as many options for that lighter color, though. Just wondered if it really matters…Thanks!!
Not one iota. I have a dark brown grain leather saddle and a pair of reddish-brown CWD leathers that never quite darkened up the way I wanted. You can’t even tell in pictures.
If the color does bother you, you are the person who will see it the most, and you are allowed to decide that it makes you nuts. If that is what you end up concluding, both CWD and Prestige make quality stirrup leathers in a more chestnut brown color that matches Antares dye.
Thank you, Renn_aissance. I just looked up the Prestige ones and saw them in the color tobacco. Exactly what I was looking for!
The M Toulouse calfskin covered leathers in cognac color blend with the reddish brown Antares leather color.
Thank you, Moneypitt. Will look at those, too.
