Stirrups colours?

Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right place to ask this question, if not, please let me know!

Do your stirrups have to be silver for dressage? The only dressage I’m doing is prelim/eventing 80cm level test and I’m just curious.

Thanks!

I looked through the rulebook and didn’t see anything specifying stirrup color. I would err on the side of caution and not do anything really flashy for your stirrups, but I can’t see that there is a rule against it. I have seen black and silver stirrups in dressage for USEA events… but haven’t paid attention to what level. Based on your level description (preliminary 80cm) it sounds like you are from a different country so I wouldn’t go by USEA rules?

Then you should probably ask on the eventing forum, since eventing dressage has different rules that dressage dressage:). What country are you in?

Obviously, check your rules

But in straight dressage, I used gold/bronze Jin Stirrups at National shows. Matched with my brown saddle, it looked lovely.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people use composite stirrups with colored pads at the schooling level…

I have shown in brown and in black Compositi stirrups at GMO shows without issue. I wouldn’t get any more crazy than that.
