Stirrups.

I am looking for an endurance type stirrup that is not super light weight. I know weight is a factor but I have lightweight stirrups now and I hate them. I already have stirrup issues (sensitive to them not being 100% equal!) so I need a heavier stirrup.

Is this possible?

If you get the aluminum ones with leather they’ll be heavier than either aluminum alone or plastic. A friend once gave me some Cloud brand stirrups after she got out of riding and they were WAY heavier than the E-Z boot endurance stirrups I had. So you might see if you can find those.

Also when I was shopping for new ones I just called the retailers 800#s and asked for weight comparisons of their different models.

You can get leather covered, aluminum stirrups which are heavier than most trail stirrups. You can also select the width of the top bar to match the width of your stirrup leathers.

Is your concern how much light stirrups flop? If so, a pair of Gary Mundy’s bottom adjust dressage leathers in a length appropriate for your leg will keep that from happening. I hate the lightweight stirrup flop, but mine stay in the perfect position with those leathers. He custom makes them to your choice of color and length too.
