I have a stonewall saddle - finally found something that works for my gelding’s back and me.
Had a saddle fitter help us and while we thought my HAF pad would work, he still bucked and it still shifted laterally on us. So, I moved on to a matrix T3 with no inserts. I find the saddle slides ON the pad now…grr. But, we did have an awesome LD with no bucks, head tossing or soreness so I know it worked for him overall.
I’m going to try the Mattes Half pad sheepskin next, but wondering what others are using under their stonewalls that work (and doesn’t break the bank to try).
I use a supracor with mine. Yes they are expensive, but easy to wash and last forever…
I am very happy with the thin pad I bought from Stonewall Saddles. It is made to work w/these saddles.
My Stonewall is semi custom and was fitted by the Stonewall people so I use the thin pad I bought from them also. Don’t hesitate to ask them, they are awesome.
