German is cool because it smooshes words together when needed in order to form a more detailed, perfect word for the thought. But it is not a pretty language. But wow - put “heart horse” into different languages and it sounds much better!
Corde equi - Latin
Caballo corazon - Spanish
Cheval de coeur - French (love that one! Would you like it better that way?)
But the best of all - ??? ??? (ETA - Never mind. I guess Arabic can’t be cut and pasted. Poor COTH blows its mind and just throws out a bunch of question marks. Trust me, it was beautiful.

I studied German for years (many years ago) but remember very little so I don’t remember those strung-together words either. I seem to recall there were some doozies in philosophy.
Heart horse in German is Herz Pferd , which is not attractive at all! I’m using cheval de coeur from now on - if I ever have reason to use it again with a horse, which is doubtful. I was lucky once. Don’t expect such luck again.

I lived in the Rheinland-Pfalz, so with that accent, Herz Pferd is actually not so guttural! ( we would say, for “Ich,” “eesh,” versus “ick.” So they are both pretty!

How interesting that the Rheinland-Pfalz accent is so very different! And it really is, if “ich” is pronounced “eesh”. Wonder if the proximity to France has anything to do with the softening of the sounds?

Herz Pferd is more fahrty than guttural, I’d say.

Soooo, even though I was never a fan of the term “heart horse” but fully understood/understand its implications, I now have been using “heart ________” on various threads on my heart BB.
Apparently I have a heart jacket, a heart post, a heart vehicle (that I sadly love above all others, I said it).
So you may want to block me. 
It’s an illness. Make a big deal over something I never noticed before, and suddenly it is popping up all over my train of thought… (or I’m just an a$$, yeah there’s always that).
