Participating in the porn industry does not make you a moral degenerate. Watching porn does not make you a moral degenerate (unless you want to imply that every man watching porn…ever…is a moral degenerate too). Plenty of “girls next door” are either participating on some level or enjoying it behind their closed doors while everyone in the pious neighborhood assumes they’re inside reading their Bible.

But hey… sex is a Bad Thing and we shouldn’t talk about it like a Normal Thing because then we’d possibly be degenerates too. Or have to move to the Red Light district. But maybe if people treated it like a more normal thing there would be fewer relationship issues, divorces, etc. Just a thought.

While you didn’t say this in your post, since we’re on the subject…I find it rather frustrating that it seems accepted amongst some people that using porn is fine, even if they’re in an active relationship, but the women that act and or produce porn are probably moral degenerates, sluts, etc. If they actively made the decision to make a career of that and have done well for themselves in that industry, then who are we to judge? Who cares??

Good point and it should, regardless of political affiliation, vocation, race or ethnicity.

General respect for differing opinions goes a long way. Though it rarely changes my mind, I do enjoy listening to opinions other than mine. I come from a diverse background, but found that I can be pretty narrowminded in some instances. Listening to others gives me a greater perspective on a range of topics, even if I don’t agree with them.

It has benefited me personally and professionally, though I still have a long way to go.

If the opinion is that a woman might be a moral degenerate because of her vocation, it should absolutely NOT be respected or tolerated. It should be called out, criticized, and slammed for the sexist BS that it is.

You should not enjoy listening to sexism, racism, or other hateful and oppressive opinions. Standing up to such hate does not make one narrow minded.

Well, she IS a porn star. The Washington Post says so. But if you doubt then then Google “pornhub” and put in her name. You’ll find some “riding” that never took place at the Rolex. At least not in front of a camera.

Does her profession mean she’s a moral degenerate? Maybe so and maybe not. But she’s not “the girl next door.” Unless, of course, you live in the Red Light district.

Yes, I know that there is a “lesbian element” because I’ve spent most of my time with men (grandfathers, father, boyfriends from time I was 3 yrs old;…my paternal grandfather told me not to marry Little Ned, but the kid had 2 shetland ponies! )And I’ve spent lots of time with male friends, etc so I know that some men I’ve worked with are really turned on by seeing 2 women having sex. Heck, men get turned on by everything and everyone, don’t blame lesbians! In my profession, men considered women who did not flaunt their sexuality as lesbians, and the opposite acting women as 'hoes. If women got money for every time they gave away sex, some of us would be very rich and have lots of horses.

Seriously. Get over yourself. I never said to enjoy it. See my other posts. You just took it to a whole nother level.

Standing up to hate and bigotry is the RIGHT thing, but being educated and armed with competitive intelligence on what other people think- no matter how disgusting or revolting you may find it- gives one leverage in how to combat it.

And certainly G has not displayed being sexist on this board, as people are referring. I don’t know G except from the board and has always been insightful posts. (so has SD). To jump on someone for using a phrase you don’t like or agree with or having a different opinion- you sound unreasonable.
