Hi a good friend and trainer told me that straight hoched horses are usually better stoppers than angled hock horses. I thought the contrary, what do you think?
I’ve owned a straight hocked horse and he would stutter to a stop. The horses that I own with some angle to their hock stop much smoother.
Straight hocked horses also are less handy and more prone to hind end lameness.
